17.2.5 Collaboration with NGOs for SDGs

posted in: SDG | 0

Rajapruk University expanded its SDG-focused collaboration with NGOs through an active partnership with the Nonthaburi Provincial Community Welfare Fund Network, operating under the Community Organization Development Institute (CODI). This initiative combined academic expertise, student volunteering programmes, applied research programmes, and practical development of educational resources to strengthen community welfare management in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.

As part of the collaboration, the University organised a capacity-building programme aimed at improving the digital management skills of welfare fund committees. On 19 September 2024, faculty from the Faculty of Digital Technology, supported by student volunteers, conducted a workshop on the SWF software used by local welfare funds. Seventy participants from across the Nonthaburi network attended the session, receiving hands-on training in digital tools that enhance accountability, data accuracy, and transparent fund administration.

Through this joint effort, students gained real-world service experience while helping create accessible digital learning materials that will be further expanded into formal educational resources for community practitioners. The project also strengthened ongoing research efforts within the University related to community digital governance, demonstrating how university-NGO collaboration-rooted in volunteering, research, and resource development—can generate practical solutions, foster local capacity, and support broader SDG implementation within the region.
