International Writing Workshop – ASEAN Research Collaboration

Rajapruk University participated in the International Writing Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, alongside early-career researchers from six ASEAN countries—Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, and Thailand. With four representatives from Rajapruk University and one from RMUTL Nan, Thailand was one of only two countries with multiple participating institutions.

This workshop served as a structured, multinational platform for building shared research standards, comparative methodologies, and international best practices relevant to sustainable development.

Participants studied social science research methods and were assigned to country-based groups to identify national issues and compare research perspectives. These findings were then presented to all participating countries, supporting cross-national understanding of regional development challenges.

This process allowed researchers to reflect on similarities and differences in local development needs, which is an essential step in defining shared best practices for SDG-related research.

Participants were placed into mixed-country groups, each forming international teams to co-design research projects. The workshop required teams to produce joint research plans, coordinate work across borders, and align on shared methodological standards.

Each team’s work will be monitored at 3-month and 6-month intervals, ensuring sustained international collaboration and refinement of best-practice research models.
